The youth exchange will be implemented in Parcul Natural Lunca Muresului. This nature protection area runs from the border of Arad to Hungary, following the Mures River and covers 17 000ha. The first steps towards establishing the Nature Park were made in 1970s. In 2006, the Mures Floodplain Natural Park was designated for inclusion in the Ramsar List of Wetlands of International Importance. Among the park’s rich biodiversity, it is home to more than 200 species of birds, many of them are protected internationally. The Nature Park Lunca Muresului provides environmental education, promotes ecotouristical activities and develops public support system for the environment protection in the area.
